20 Weeks- half way there!
I can’t believe we are already half way through my pregnancy. It’s an incredible and transformational process. I can say I’m so different from how I was 20 weeks ago. My priorities, mindfulness and love have expanded much more than I could have ever imagined.
Having a home birth I only have two ultrasounds and at 20 weeks this was my last one. I remember the first appointment at 12 weeks and 4 days and thinking it will be forever until the next appointment. I blinked and we are now here.
I know some folks are hesitant about ultrasounds and I get it, but my midwifes made a great point… We are around so much frequency’s and radiation all day from computers, cell phones, iPads, etc. that this quick moment to see your baby and know all the anatomy is perfect – is worth it. It’s not like I went every month only twice in this pregnancy.
I will tell you the technology and capability of the ultrasounds are unbelievable. We were able to see the heart valves, bones, organs, tissues, count fingers and toes. Not to mention being able to take home the image of our baby is priceless at this time. I feel that they have been a great comfort, especially after having so many miscarriages. These appointments and seeing the baby healthy are very uplifting.
Take a look at our baby at 12.4 weeks and then again at 20 weeks doing it’s “Thinker” pose. We do know the sex, but want to have a co-ed baby shower/ gender reveal. Our plan is to have a cake that is either blue on the inside or pink to show our babies gender. More to come on that soon.
