First Fiesta: theme party

I can’t believe my baby is one years old! This truly has been the fastest year of my life. I know, it’s what everyone says, BUT its the one thing I’ve found to be absolutely 100% true.

My husband and myself went with a fiesta theme. It was very important to us that her Birthday stand out from the Holidays that surround her Birthday.  She is a New Years Eve baby so coming off the Holidays and on to this Holiday we really wanted the opposite and not competing events for her day. So a Fiesta seemed beyond perfect!

It was so fun, bright and fantastic! Despite the rain and having to move most of the party inside, it felt super bright and sunny with the color explosion through the house. My hubby, Baby B and myself also wore items that fit the theme. I’m an event planner so I really get into events and parties. Theme parties especially are my thing, I’m all about the little details.

We had ladies in the backyard making tacos on a mesquite very typical TJ bbq (a water can cut in half), mariachi’s, pinatas, donkey Photo Booth and pin the tail on the donkey.

I made the floral arrangements using flowers from Trader Joes and cans of Mexican salsa I found at the local Mexican food market. Our flower crowns were made by a local floral designer Magnolia Flower Shoppe and food was catered by Taquizas Jose. Both a must if you are in the San Diego area!

We had organic snacks for the kids, homemade adult margaritas and of course cervezas.

I made Baby B’s smash cake that was gluten free, no sugar, organic, vegan and all natural. Recipe HERE.

I loved this theme! We have decided that for every child we have, they will get a first fiesta!

Here are some photo’s of all the details that made the day so special!

Que te Diviertas!
